Proposition 8 in Redmond
Californians Against Hate has a dishonor roll of people and organizations who gave more than $5,000 to support Proposition 8 and end gay marriage in California. There are the usual suspects—Concerned Women of America, Focus on the Family, and so on. But one surprised me.
The only donor from Washington state is Mike Murray of Redmond, a former software executive, who gave $100,000. To read about some of Murray's retirement work and his Crystal Springs Foundation, you'd be hard pressed to guess he would finance hate.

Wow. It is really depressing to read the list, and to see how many people gave so much money to promote discrimination. Eeeeesh. Don't they have better things to spend their money on? Health care for children, immunizations for Africa, housing for the homeless?
